Sy Woon, has been awarded an all-expenses paid scholarship to attend the Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs (ACC&D)’s 5th International Symposium on Non-Surgical Contraceptive Methods in Pet Population Control, which will be taking place in Portland, Oregon from June 20th - 23rd.
Sy is one of three winners of the AAC&D’s Essay Contest, which was open to veterinary students, residents and interns across the globe. The contest aimed to award students based on their responses to challenge questions, and sought candidates who demonstrated commitment in the animal welfare field with prospective plans to address overpopulation and improve animal welfare.
The award attracted applicants from 26 U.S. and international veterinary schools, and Sy was the only non-U.S. student to be selected. She will also be presenting on the use of Suprelorin and Deslorelin in Australian companion animals, and will participate in the symposium's exclusive training course, to become certified to use the revolutionary Zeuterin technology - the latest (and only FDA-approved) permanent injectable sterilant for male dogs, to be commercially released in the U.S. mid-2013.
