Rabbit Farming Investigation

Dr Rosemary Elliott and Dr Katherine van Ekert Onay were grateful to help Animal Equality with their recent investigation into the European rabbit meat industry. 

The two year investigation went undercover to expose conditions at four slaughterhouses and 72 farms in Spain, and received fantastic media coverage in the UK, Spain and Italy. Following the release, three restaurants in England, which were linked to the farms investigated, have stopped serving rabbit meat.

Animals Equality have taken legal action to prosecute the ones responsible and to shut down some of the farms and Sentient's expert statements will be used as evidence in the proceedings.
