Victorian breed-specific legislation update

A Victorian parliamentary committee of inquiry has finally concluded that the state's breed-specific legislation is not working. The Committee has recommended a focus on responsible dog ownership, removing the power of councils to seize and euthanase unregistered Pit Bulls based on their breed. Excerpts from Sentient's submission were quoted in the report, namely evidence for the inability to definitively identify Pit Bulls via DNA testing or visual markers.
