Low support for free range meat

University of Sydney researchers, including Sentient's Professor Paul McGreevy, have found that although 40% of all eggs sold are free range, the market share for free range meat is much lower (14% for meat chickens and 5% for pigs). Our food labelling is deceptive but FREPA, RSPCA Farming Scheme and Humane Choice can steer buyers towards higher-welfare products.
